Peter Hughes, private violin instructor and performing artist from Worcester, MA., studied violin with Grant Rudnicki, Sarah Scriven, Eric Rosenblith and Janet Packer. In 1973 Peter became the Worcester Orchestra’s youngest professional, admitted at age fifteen, and for a rare decade played under the batons of world class conductors. Peter studied at both the New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music. Mr. Hughes has been freelancing in the greater Boston area since 1982 and currently plays with the Massachusetts Symphony in Worcester. He worked this year with a medieval music and story telling ensemble, "Riverheart", and with The Joy of Music Program String Quartet at the faculty recital of cellist Ning Tien. On a Sunday afternoon in early March, 2009, Peter put together an informal concert of duets and poetry readings at his west-side apartment living room--a sign perhaps of things to come. Peter has been teaching at well known music programs in Central Mass. since moving to Worcester in 2001 where he lives with his wife and two children.
