Peter Hughes offers violin & viola lessons in Worcester, Massachusetts....
Violin teacher Peter Hughes, a resident of Worcester, studied violin with Grant Rudnicki and Sarah Scriven, who shared their great enthusiasm for the violin and the art of music making while recognizing the unique life, personality and creative potential of each student. After high school he studied with Eric Rosenblith at New England Conservatory of Music and Janet Packer at the Longy School of Music. Peter also learned chamber music with Grant Rudnicki, Robert Merfeld and Eugene Lehner. Peter has taught at several schools in Central Massachusetts, among them the Joy of Music Program, Anna Maria College, Worcester Academy and Robinson Music. He gained his first teaching experiences at Boston Music Company and Pakachoag Community Music School. Over the years Peter has encouraged many children, teenagers and adults. In addition to classical music, Peter enjoys jazz and fiddle, and music from around the world. Peter has attended seminars at Longy School of Music, School for Strings (NYC), and Community MusicWorks which have had a great effect on his development as a music teacher and performer. Peter currently teaches in Worcester at the Joy of Music Program and works in the New England Piano Trio with colleagues he met at JOMP. He has been a busy freelance musician for more than twenty-five years.
